His name is Mystery Caramel, and he's a full blood Morgan stallion in Tucson, Arizona!
Mystery Caramel, a son of Mary Mels Mystery and Divine Sky Fudge, was purchased as a gangly two year old colt by Santa Rita Arabians in Tucson, Arizona from Liberty Mtn. Ranch in Arkansas. Jim and Rita Brown, owners of Santa Rita, already had Caramel's dam on lease for breeding. Caramel wasn't very impressive when he arrived, but soon began to grow and show his potential. The trainer, who specializes in 3 day eventing, decided that this is the sport where Caramel would shine. As a four year old in 2006, he was started under saddle. His heavy weight rider is Blake Potter, who has never done eventing before but is already a rising star in the sport of endurance riding. Blake had to learn dressage and jumping while also starting Caramel under saddle. In August 2006, the pair began to learn jumping together while also working on the dressage. October through December found Blake laid up with knee surgery so training was suspended until January. In February 2007, they attended their first eventing show, the Las Cruces Horse Trials in New Mexico. Neither of them had even seen an eventing course before this. They came home fourth out of six with no refusals over the two day event. In May they competed in their first official eventing show (not a schooling show) and finished 7th out of 18 horses. This page is dedicated to Caramel and Blake as they continue their journey in 3 day eventing. We will add pictures and updates as they continue to compete. This is the kind of quality offspring that Mary Mels Mystery has been putting on the ground for Liberty Mtn. Ranch. Caramel's dam, Fudge, is sired by the palomino Morgan stallion, Skys-Ethete-Pride and out of our foundation mare, Washita Prima Dona. Fudge is the last daughter born out of Dona.
